On October 27, 2025, Total Care Support Services had the privilege of joining the Bloody Walk in Adelaide, an inspiring event that combined physical activity, community connection, and fundraising for a meaningful cause. The day brought together participants, mentors, and supporters to celebrate resilience, achievement, and the power of community.

Among the participants was Antony, a friendly and easy-going young man who thrives on staying active and engaged. Accompanied by his mentor Doug, Antony tackled the 35KM walk with determination, excitement, and a big smile.

Antony’s experience

For Antony, the Bloody Walk wasn’t just about completing a physical challenge — it was about connection, confidence, and fun. From the very first steps, he was motivated by the energy of the crowd, the shared sense of purpose, and the support from Doug.

“I can’t believe we did 35KM! It was hard at times, but having Doug beside me made it fun and easier. I really enjoyed meeting people and feeling part of something bigger.”Antony

Throughout the walk, Antony’s enthusiasm never wavered. He enjoyed the opportunity to engage with the community, experience new surroundings, and challenge himself physically. Each step became a celebration of his strength, determination, and social connection.

Total Care in action

Events like the Bloody Walk highlight how mentorship and therapy supports at Total Care go beyond day-to-day routines. Doug provided guidance, encouragement, and motivation, helping Antony stay focused, pace himself, and enjoy the journey.

“Walking alongside Antony and seeing him push himself was inspiring. He handled the challenge with a positive attitude and lots of energy — it reminded me why we do what we do.”Doug

This partnership demonstrates how supportive mentoring can enhance participants’ experiences, helping them gain confidence, develop skills, and enjoy meaningful activities in the community.

Community, connection, and achievement

The Bloody Walk offered more than just a physical challenge. It was a platform for fundraising, raising awareness, and fostering community connection. Participants and supporters came together to celebrate each achievement, share laughter, and create memories.

For Antony, the event was a personal milestone. Completing 35KM showed how far he has come in building independence, stamina, and confidence, while also contributing to a cause that matters.

“I feel proud of myself. I walked 35KM, met amazing people, and had a great day with Doug. I can’t wait for the next adventure!”Antony
